Damn. It looks like fun. I want to be there.
Last night was just a warm-up. Today it really gets crazy. It's very quiet this morning with the street closed to traffic. The only movement outside is a guy walking his sheepdog.
Ah, to be there. There are more people on that street than several towns combined around here...
Are there any fun festivals happening the weekend of Aug. 21/22? I'm having a reunion with the women I travelled with in Asia that weekend (in Toronto). Is there a Taste of the Spadina or anything like that happening that weekend?
Nope. Little Italy and Little India had festivals earlier in the summer - much smaller than Taste of the Danforth, but still fun. Caribana (the West Indian fest) and Pride have come and gone. All that's left is the film festival next month.
PS Helen: I'm wondering what a bunch of female former fellow-travelers do at their reunion. Do you rent a hotel room and lay on your tummies with your legs up and your ankles crossed listening to old records on a wee box record-player? Just askin'. Sigh.
How did you know? Plus we spend a lot of time at the French bakery by my friend's place.
I think I saw a movie by Chantal Akerman not unlike that.
You seem to be confusing Helen with Jean Seberg in 'Breathless'; easy mistake to make,I know.
